Creative arts

Creative arts is mandatory for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. 

In creative arts, students discover a variety of art forms through a study of dance, drama, music and visual arts where they learn to appreciate, compose, listen, make and perform.

Each art form has its own unique knowledge and skills, elements or concepts as well as a capacity to inspire and enrich lives.

Music Programs

All students at Bondi Beach Public School participate in a one-hour weekly music lesson as well as a weekly signing class with specialist teachers. In addition, the school offers the following music programs and events:

Band (Junior and Senior run by Directions in Music). Students from Years 3-6 are welcome to join and can either buy or hire instruments. Tuition takes place at school after school hours.

·         Violin ensemble is available to students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

·         Singing lesson for students in Kindergarten to Year 2

·         Choir is available for students in Years 3 - 6 and have a practise session each week before school. The school choir performs at various school and community events throughout the year.

·         Recorder Ensemble

·         Festival of Instrumental Music

·         Big Band Bash

Dance Programs

Students from Kindergarten to Year 6 participate in a dance program for one hour a week that incorporates choreography and appreciation activities. In addition, the school offers the following dance programs and events:

·         Dance Ensembles (Junior, Intermediate, Senior)

·         Regional and State Dance Festivals

·         Schools Spectacular

·         Students also regularly perform at assemblies to showcase their talents to students and staff.
