Our extra-curricular highlights
Public speaking
Our public speaking program helps students develop confidence, clarity and poise when addressing an audience. They focus on the three M’s – manner, matter and method – as they learn to craft engaging speeches and express their ideas effectively. Students also have the opportunity to take part in events such as the Metropolitan Public Speaking Competition, representing our school with pride.
Debating
Our debating program helps students develop confidence, clear thinking and strong communication skills. They learn to research topics, build arguments and present their ideas with confidence and respect. Through teamwork and friendly competitions, students strengthen their ability to express their views and listen to others. They also have the opportunity to compete in local and state events, including the Premier’s Debating Challenge, where they can showcase their skills and represent our school.
Creative and performing arts
Our creative and performing arts programs give students the opportunity to explore their talents and express themselves. Students can participate in choir, band, recorder, and dance, developing their skills and confidence through collaborative and engaging activities.
SRC and student leadership
Our student leadership program gives children the chance to take on meaningful roles within the school. Students help guide younger students, organise school events, represent the school in various activities, and contribute ideas to make our school even better. These opportunities help students build confidence, teamwork, communication skills, and a sense of responsibility, while learning how to support and inspire others.
Trips and excursions
Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world.
Maths Olympiad
Our Maths Olympiad program gives students the chance to challenge themselves and develop their problem-solving skills. Through engaging and stimulating mathematical challenges, students build logical thinking, creativity, and perseverance while enjoying the excitement of tackling interesting and thought-provoking problems.
Code club
Code Club gives students the chance to explore technology and learn the basics of coding in a fun, hands-on way. They solve problems, create projects and build digital skills that encourage creativity and logical thinking. Through teamwork and experimentation, students gain confidence as young innovators and discover how coding connects to the real world.
School sport, athletics and inter-school competitions
Our sports program encourages all students to be active, healthy and work as part of a team. They take part in a range of school and inter-school events that build fitness, confidence and school spirit.
